Colle defeats Rossi in Eglinton–Lawrence

Former mayoral candidate came up short against incumbent Liberal

Liberal Mike Colle has held onto his Eglinton-Lawrence in spite of a challenge from ex-mayoral candidate Rocco Rossi.

As of 10:03 Colle had received 52.1 percent of the ballots counted as compared with 35.8 percent for Rossi. NDP candidate Gerti Dervishi is currently in third with 9.4 percent of the vote.

Colle, who has represented the riding since it was created in 1999, bucked the federal trend which saw his Liberal counterpart Joe Vope soundly beaten by Conservative Joe Oliver.
